Had chores to do, but sneaked out to the Texas City Dike to see what was going on. My buddy Jason, the owner of Boyd’s One Stop Bait and Seafood was at his place. We visited a few minutes and then I was off to the end of the Dike. Not a whole lot was happening, but quite a few folks were out trying their luck. I didn’t see any fish caught, but the water was in very good shape. The tide was above normal and I imagine fish were caught during the early morning hours.
On my way back, I spotted this little creature on the rocks. He allowed me to take a few pictures before he took off and scooted across the ship channel.
You just never know what you will see while out on the Dike.
I think tonight would be a good time to set up the lights and generator for some night fishing. If I can square things away this evening, I might find myself out there doing just that.

Well we went out saturday, wind was way too heavy to run the baits in the kayak, so we just surf fished. 1 stingray and 1 catfish. at least it wasnt a skunk day!! allthough the sailboats saturday made it harder fishing as a couple of them actually came in close enough and snagged our lines!!
plan on trying again soon, hopefully thursday morning before i go pick my kiddo up from school.

I was out there this morning. got there about 1030 and tossed out my heavy rods. one with fresh dead shrimp and one with blue crab. nothing caught
I am heading back out in the morning with my bro in laws kayak to run bait out on my penn 6/0.
