Drum On The Dike

I was on the Texas City Dike this afternoon. I picked up some live blue crab from Boyd’s One Stop bait camp and had two lines in the water around 2:30pm. Today, the weather threw just about everything at me, except snow and hail. It rained most of the night and didn’t let up until after noon. A cool front came made it here not long after I arrived on the Dike. The wind was calm for a while, but by the time I packed it up, a gusty north wind was blowing across the Dike.

I fished until the sun set and never had a bite. I did see a fisherman land a nice sized black drum about 100 yards from me. I shot some video of him fighting it.

    Hi Dave,

Is it safe to fish at night at the Texas Dike?
